As Captain Marvel used to say — “Shazam!” It was a super hero themed week at the 15th annual IAITAM Spring ACE Conference where SoftwareONE hosted as a silver sponsor, presented, and received accolades from industry peers. We had the pleasure of interacting with hundreds of clients and customers at both our booth and throughout speaking sessions that our SoftwareONE experts hosted during the week. These sessions focused on best practices for cost control, audits, and partnerships with key publishers – all in relation to software asset management (SAM).
We would like to take a moment to congratulate our own Diane Conaway, who was inducted into the IAITAM fellowship. There are currently only twenty fellows worldwide and Diane will now help to advance the profession through additional speaking engagements and publications. She has been an IAITAM member since the early 2000’s and is honored to be recognized by the organization. Diane has over twenty years of professional experience designing and implementing ITAM solutions for Fortune 500 organizations. She is currently a software procurement and SAM solution specialist with SoftwareONE.
Russ Eicholtz, who presented on Cutting Software Costs with SAM, spoke to how cutting costs is a process that impacts the entire company culture – and is not simply a quick fix tool. Much of the conversations Russ encountered centered on how to become more proactive in terms of cost cutting and overall software optimization. Russ’ interaction with the audience fostered discussions that resulted in impressive conversations amongst SAM peers across industries, and resulted in a deeper understanding of how customers can work towards cutting costs with SAM.
Julie Owens had the tough slot of last speaker on the last day but still had a full house at her presentation – So You’re Being Audited: 10 Steps to Survive Every Organization’s Nightmare. Audits have been at the forefront of the news lately for some major publishers, and organizations are trying to get a handle on how to get out in front of audits, and better understand the overall process. Julie presented best practices to not only survive an audit, but be better prepared for one in the first place, as they become inevitable in today’s software landscape.
SoftwareONE had a great week at the IAITAM spring conference, and we are looking forward to seeing both familiar and new faces at the Software Asset Management Strategies (SAMS) 2017 conference to be held in June 2017 in Boston. SoftwareONE will be hosting a booth at the conference, and we will be available for discussions around best practices in SAM and how the SoftwareONE PyraCloud platform can help shift SAM from a tactical discussion to a more strategic one aligned with your longer-term business goals. Please join us at SAMS 2017.
