As organizations move to a hybrid cloud approach, IT decision makers are looking for solutions to help them manage their on-premise software assets alongside their cloud deployments. Recognizing this gap, we at SoftwareONE are further investing in our proprietary platform – PyraCloud – by expanding our Irish operations into Dublin, supported by IDA Ireland to help build the country’s thriving technology sector.
SoftwareONE announces the creation of 100 new jobs as part of €16m expansion plan, supported by IDA Ireland
IDA Ireland is a non-commercial, semi-state body promoting Foreign Direct Investment into Ireland through a wide range of services. IDA Ireland partners with potential and existing investors to help establish or expand their operations in Ireland.
“Today’s announcement that SoftwareONE is creating a 100 new jobs is great news for the country,” said Mary Mitchell O’Connor, Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. “We are all aware that Cloud Computing is a huge growth area and this company is at the cutting edge of this exciting development. SoftwareONE’s expansion builds on our success in developing a thriving software sector in Ireland over recent years following our investment in developing appropriate skills. All jobs created have a positive knock on effect for the wider community. I wish Mike Gersten and the team every success into the future.”
As reported by Silicon Republic, “Having entered Ireland in 2011 with the opening of an office in Mahon, Co Cork, SoftwareONE is opening a new Dublin office with hopes of adding 100 to its headcount by 2019. The roles to be created by SoftwareONE include senior scrum masters, full-stack developers, front-end developers, test engineers, and user experience experts, as well as positions in HR, finance, sales, and administration.”
PyraCloud is an unprecedented platform. Built on the foundation of the company’s roots as a global software reseller and license compliance management service provider, PyraCloud’s value-add stems from its ability to build upon this foundation and extend into the cloud, where organizations with cloud deployments can monitor their usage of cloud resources and budget accordingly. Building upon the roots as a strategic partner to the top software publishers, SoftwareONE is uniquely positioned to be cloud-agnostic in its delivery of this model. However, since there are so many cloud solutions competing in the market, connecting the APIs across the likes of Microsoft Azure, AWS, vCloud Air, Office 365, etc., requires significant investment in manpower.
As said by IDA Ireland Chief Executive Martin Shanahan in the Sunday Business Post, “Today’s announcement by SoftwareONE once again endorses Ireland’s position as a thriving global tech hub.”
